SBI VC Trade, a crypto exchange based in Japan and owned by SBI Holdings, has officially announced a partnership with DMM Bitcoin, another Japanese exchange that was forced to close down due to a cyberattack.
This partnership will see the transfer of DMM Bitcoin’s customer accounts and assets to SBI VC Trade’s platform.
This confirmation came after DMM Bitcoin, a part of the DMM.com Group, announced earlier this month that it would be stopping its operations and going into liquidation. In its announcement, DMM Bitcoin also mentioned a potential deal with SBI’s crypto exchange.
According to the latest update from SBI VC Trade on Wednesday, the transfer of DMM Bitcoin’s customer accounts and assets to its platform is set to take place on 8 March 2025. It was also stated that DMM Bitcoin customers do not need to create new accounts with SBI VC Trade as the accounts will be opened for them automatically.
