Fintech firm Bolt Financial Inc. has announced it will acquire blockchain payments startup Wyre Payments for about $1.5 billion, The Wall Street Journal has reported.
According to the WSJ, whose information has been confirmed by the 2 parties involved, the takeover will be the largest in the history of the crypto industry without the participation of SPAC.
In May 2021, Mike Novogratz-owned crypto bank Galaxy Digital paid $1.2B to purchase custodial service provider BitGo.
Bolt Financial offers merchants one-click checkout services. Thanks to the deal, Wyre will grant the company access to the crypto payments market.
Wyre’s API and crypto-to-fiat gateways allow the company’s clients to interact with digital assets.
